A Brief Introduction Of The Holy Quran

Introduction about the Holy Quran. The Qur’an is the Word of God. Quran is the most memorized book. Quran is a continuation of Previous Scriptures. Quran is a book of science and prophecies of future technologies. The Holy Quran is a gift to Humankind by Allah Almighty. The Holy Quran was revealed on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The Holy Quran incorporates religious knowledge and wisdom proclaimed by Allah. Everyone can learn and understand the true message of Holy Quran. The teachings of Holy Quran are for entire humanity The Holy Quran informs people about the right path that leads to the actual success. The Holy Quran allows people to distinguish between right and wrong.


Rewards on learning Quran

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said:

(1) The best of you is he who learns the Holy Quran and teaches it to others. (Bukhari). (2) Undoubtedly, the heart gets rusted like metal gets rusted when water goes over it. The people asked, “How can they [the hearts] be cleaned?” The Prophet replied, “To remember death in abundance and to recite the Holy Quran.” (Mishkat). (3) That chest which does not have any Holy Quran in it is like an abandoned house. (Tirmizi, Darmi).

The term of Makki and Madni Surah.

Out of the 114 Surah, 86 were revealed in the thrteen years that the Prophet lived in Mecca before migration to Madinah after the revelation. These Suah called Makki Surah.  The other 28 Surah were revealed in al-Madina after Migration. These Surah called Madni Suah.

How Is The Quran Organized?

There are 30 chapters in Holy Quran. Each chapter is called a Juz in Arabic and a Sipara in Urdu. There are 114 Surahs in Holy Quran and each Surah consists of a number of verses. Each sentence or phrase of the Quran is called an ayah in arabic and verse in English.  There are 6666 Ayahs in Holy Quran total that call humankind to the right path.
